NICK SOUTHWORTH NAMED HEAD WOMEN’S SOCCER COACH
Albany, NY - Bryant & Stratton College is proud to announce Nick Southworth as the inaugural Head Coach for the one of the department's newest programs - women's soccer.
Southworth joins the Bobcats after most recently serving as the assistant men's soccer coach at Hudson Valley Community College. He has previous experience as a head coach, having led the Colonie Central High School girls' varsity program for 7 years. While at Colonie, he was also the assistant varsity head coach for boy's soccer. Southworth has won championships at the club level with the FC Dutchmen, Black Watch Premier, and as the girl's scholastic co-head coach for the Adirondack Region of the Empire State Games.
As a player, Southworth had more than his share of success as a senior at Maple Hill High School when he was selected Patroon Conference MVP, the Troy Record Player of the Year, and the Class C Section 2 Player of the Year. He moved on to RPI and UAlbany leaving his mark as a member of the All-Rookie Team and single season point leader, respectively. The single season point total of 22 (9 goals, 4 assists) is still currently tied for fourth all time in UAlbany's Division I history.
Southworth is a dual graduate of the University at Albany. He earned a bachelor's degree in Math, and continued by also earning a master's degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Math. He is the President and Program Coordinator of his own soccer management company, Cap City Soccer LLC, and holds diplomas and licenses from the NSCAA and the USSF.
