Bobcats Win with Seconds to go!
Dec 2, 2018

Coming off a tough loss against Army (JV) last Monday, the Bobcats looked to get back on track as they traveled to Vermont Technical College to take on the 7-3 Knights.

The first half began tightly contested with both teams struggling to hit their shots. With the Bobcats shooting 35% from 3-point range, the guys were fortunate to catch the Knights in a similar slump who shot 0% from 3. However, the Bobcats were able to get some help from their bench with Freshman Shane Taylor, contributing 12 points of his own.

Heading into the second half leading 34-31, the Bobcats continued to struggle with their shooting while the Knights saw significant improvement. Nevertheless, the Bobcats were able to keep the game close with Freshman Kobbie Perez leading the way with 16 points of his own in the final half. Trailing 61-60 with only 4 seconds to go, a key defensive rebound by the Bobcats gave Coach Filien the chance to call a timeout for one final play. With an opportunity to pull out a win, Freshman Herman Suazo was able to capitalize on a layup and earn the Bobcats a last second victory with a final score of 62-61.

Despite the Bobcats not playing to their full potential, the guys were able to persevere and sneak away with the win. With a record of 8-1 on the year, Coach Filien and his team will look to clean some things up as they head back on the road to take on (6-1) ASA College on December 7th at 7:30pm.
