Modeste's Hat Trick Leads Buffalo to Dominant Conference Win
BUFFALO, NY - Justin Modeste kept his hot play going on Saturday, scoring a hat trick and helping lead Bryant & Stratton College Buffalo to a dominant 4-1 victory to open conference play and get back over .500 on the season. Buffalo improved to 3-2 (1-0) on the season with the win and Modeste recorded his third, fourth, and fifth goals of the season.
BUFFALO, NY - Justin Modeste kept his hot play going on Saturday, scoring a hat trick and helping lead Bryant & Stratton College Buffalo to a dominant 4-1 victory to open conference play and get back over .500 on the season. Buffalo improved to 3-2 (1-0) on the season with the win and Modeste recorded his third, fourth, and fifth goals of the season.
Buffalo scored three goals in the first half with Modeste scoring two and fellow freshman Aidan Byk scoring the other. Byk notched his fifth goal on the season as he has scored in every game this season. Goalkeeper Kevin Williams recorded his third win of the season, making eight saves, with a number of them coming as Albany turned up the pressure in the second half.
Albany held a slight edge in shots (12-11), but it was Buffalo who capitalized on the opportunities. Byk opened the scoring in the eighth minute with the assist coming from Kevin Songolo. Modeste then scored the next two at the 27th and 42nd minute, with both being assisted by Jaheim Grey.
Albany got on the board in the the 63rd minute, but Modeste answered less than 10 minutes later with a penalty kick goal to seal the win.
UP NEXT
The Bobcats remain at home for their next contest, which is slated for Sunday, October 1st at 7 p.m. against Berkeley (NY).
