Bio
Janine Davis brings a rich and dynamic background in collegiate athletics, marked by excellence as both a player and coach, and now as a rising leader in athletic administration. Her journey began on the court as a standout women’s basketball player at George Washington University before transferring to Siena College and later Fisk University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. During her senior season at Fisk, she made history by averaging 15.2 points, 7.8 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game, breaking the school’s single-season assist record and finishing #1 in NAIA Division I in both total assists and assist-to-turnover ratio.
Transitioning seamlessly into coaching, Coach Davis held roles of increasing responsibility—starting as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Farmingdale State College, then moving on to become the Head Girls Varsity Coach at Medgar Evers College Prep High School. She later returned to her alma mater as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Fisk University before accepting her current role as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Bryant & Stratton College in May 2023.
Now stepping into her role as Assistant Athletic Director, Coach Davis leverages her on-court experience and proven leadership to support the holistic development of student-athletes and enhance athletic program operations. Her ability to recruit top talent, foster academic excellence, and lead with integrity has made a lasting impact across every institution she’s served.
Off the court, she has been recognized for her character and dedication, earning honors such as the A.D. Hancock Walter Nipper Sportsmanship Award and making the GCAC All-Academic Athletic Honor Roll. Coach Davis exemplifies a commitment to community, education, and mentorship. She resides in Albany, NY, with her partner Marcus Summerville and daughter Mariah, continuing to inspire through both her professional and personal life.
