Louis Butts brings over 15 years of leadership in athletics, coaching, and student development to his role as Athletic Director at Bryant & Stratton College in Albany, NY. A former offensive lineman at the University at Albany from 1995 to 1998, Lou's passion for sports is rooted in his experience as both a collegiate athlete and coach.

During his tenure at UAlbany, Lou became a key contributor on the offensive line.  Lou was a part of the 1997 University at Albany football team achieved a historic milestone by finishing the season with an impressive 11–1 record, securing both the Eastern Football Conference championship and the EFC Atlantic Division title. This remarkable performance marked the greatest season in the program's 25-year varsity history. Under the leadership of head coach Bob Ford, the team demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, setting a new standard for future Great Danes squads.

Following his playing career, Lou transitioned into coaching, serving as Offensive Coordinator at Siena College from 1998 to 2003. In this role, he directed offensive strategies that led to significant improvements in team performance and winning records. He was promoted to Offensive Coordinator within two years, reflecting his leadership and contributions to the program. Lou also collaborated with campus departments to enhance facilities and create a supportive environment for student-athletes.

Lou's commitment to fostering inclusive and competitive athletic environments is evident in his role as Owner and Head Coach of the NY Knockout Women's Professional Tackle Football team. Since 2019, he has successfully managed all aspects of team operations, including strategic planning, recruitment, and community engagement, transforming the team from a perennial underdog to a consistent national playoff contender. Since 2019 the Knockouts are 23-7 in the regular season under Lou’s direction.

His dedication to community impact is further demonstrated through his tenure as Committee Chair and Head Coach for RivALZ Flag Football with the Alzheimer's Association, where he combined athletic competition with meaningful fundraising and awareness initiatives.

Lou resides in Rexford, NY, with his wife Theresa and their two sons, Collin and Henry. He continues to be a passionate advocate for athlete success on and off the field, building a culture of excellence, accountability, and opportunity at Bryant & Stratton.
