BSC-Rochester Sweeps Albany with Another Defensive Lockdown
Almost a month to the day after their previous contest, Bryant & Stratton-Rochester played host to Bryant & Stratton-Albany and completed the season sweep of their in-state rivals with an 80-55 win.
Adriana Gunkel and Kadijah Jones each dropped 10 points in the first half, helping to break the game open and stake the Bobcats to a 42-25 lead at the half. That momentum carried on to the second half as Jones added 12 more points for her team-high 22. Dorian Sharp helped drive the offense in the second half as well, scoring 10 in the final frame and 13 on the afternoon.
In what head coach has coined as Bobcat Ball, BSC-Rochester once again suffocated their opponent’s attack, limiting offensive opportunities and carving out another dominant defensive performance.
Bryant & Stratton’s defense has been a hallmark of their 11-5 record. The Bobcats have held their opponents to 50 points or fewer six different times this season and there have been four other instances where they’ve held opponents under 60 points. The Bobcats are 9-1 in the 10 games where they’ve held opponents under 60 points.
The Bobcats team offense hasn’t been a passenger by any means, sharing the Bobcat Ball duties. But as this impressive inaugural season progresses, BSC’s team defense has become the hallmark of the Bobcats impressive play.
