BOBCATS UPSET THE GENERALS
LOCH SHELDRAKE, NEW YORK- In a highly anticipated game, the Bryant & Stratton men's basketball team hit to the road to play SUNY Sullivan Generals, a highly ranked team, last night. The Bobcats were clawing for a win after losses against Atlantis last week, but pulled themselves up and upset the Generals with a final score of 81-71. The Bobcats led by double digits going into the half, and the Generals closed the gap, but not enough in the final minutes of the game. "So proud of this group for playing a full 40 minutes at the energy and output I knew they were capable of. Sullivan is a great program, but our guys did a good job knowing the scouting report and sticking to it. Von and Denali proved to be a very difficult combo under the hope, and we went to them early and often. Solid play from everyone who had minutes. Alfonso Davis played his first minutes of the season and brought an energy and spark to this team that has some serious value. Very happy for him. We need to try to build off of this win and keep playing better each time out. This group is no where near their potential, and that's okay for now because we're early in the season. " Mike Shewmaker, Head Coach
Devon Smith -Johnson led the team with 24 points; Denali Burton sunk 20. Box score will be updated. Stay tuned!
The Bobcats will be in game play again on November 28th at Elmira College.
