THEY FOUGHT HARD
Our Lady Bobcats drop to 4-2 in a match where nothing was left on the floor
Starters for the Bobcats were Kori Hardee, Kiari Sweeney, Anyla Harper, Madison Perez, and Lauren Feldman.
Head Coach Jaclyn Welch acknowledges the team is slow to start and it's something they are working on. It just might be that faster start that will make the difference gong forward to even out there record in this early season with plenty to go.
Our first points were a set of free sthrows at the 4-minute mark by Center Lauen Feldman whose season start was delayed by a foot injury. With some conditining catching up to get behind her, she's still a strong force on the court able to draw fouls and get in the way of offensive plays. The momentum from the set of free throws kicked in when Perez grabbed a defensive rebound and quickly brought the ball down the court where Hsrper hit a 3 assisted by Hardee for the first lead of the game 5-2.
Despite the turnovers from both teams, the Falcons went on a run with aggressive rebounding, while the Lady Bobcats earned three fouls losing their lead to 6 out of six at the line and a well-executed jumpshot. Going into the second quarter, Bryant & Stratton had lost ground with the not as promising at 8-14.
A duel of rebounding ensued and The Falans and Lady Bobcats worked hard to out strategize, and outplay. By the end of the third quarter, Fisher was up by a bucket. It was anybody's game. Fourth quarter with 6 minutes to go, Kori Hardee hit a smooth jumpshot bringing us into the lead (33-32) for the second
time in the match. Kiara Sweeny played a significant role dominating boards and naviagting the ball up the court earning herself a double double with 10 rebounds, 11 points, along with 3 steals, 1 block and an assist playeing the full 40 minutes.
Our Lady Bobcats fought hard but fell short in the end. The final sxore was 44-50.
Kori Hardee played all but 2 minutes coming home with 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Anly Harper was just short of a double double with 10 rebounds, 9 points, a block and a steal. Madison Perez contributed 6 points, 2 rebounds and 2 asists in her 35 minutes. Lauren Feldman, coming back from her injury played 35 minutes and was Bobcats high scorer with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks.
