SEASON OPENER SHOWS PROMISE FOR THE BOBCATS
AUBURN, MAINE- Bryant & Stratton women's basketball traveled to Auburn Maine to play Central Maine (1-0) for their season opener, and finished with a final score of 75-82 loss, but with no reason to hang their heads. The Lady Bobcats played with grit and finesse as the team of 7 had little time to rest against a talented and aggressive Mustangs crew with a deep bench. In the 3rd quarter, the Mustangs were up as much as 12 points, but by the end of the 3rd the deficit was just 4. In the 4th, with just minutes to go, the Bobcats took the lead when Mickia Freeney put up a 3, and after a turnover Hasjina Gaddy cruised in with a layup, making it a 1-point game. Gaddy helped push the come back when she was fouled and went 2 for 2 at the line when the Mustangs answered bringing the game to 75-74 Bobcat lead. The final quarter had several lead changes, but the Mustangs took control of the ball the last minute of the game garnering the win.
