WOMEN'S SOCCER RECAP VS FIVE TOWNS, October 11, 2021
BOBCATS SWEEP FIVE TOWNS 9-0
COLONIE, NEW YORK - it was a quick start by the Bobcats with just less than two minutes in, respectable shots were taken were taken by Lydia Mohendano and Amy Leon, but without bearing fruit. Leon had a nice corner shot, but still no fruit. It all changed when Mohendano set up sweet goal for Miranda Contreras putting a score on the board of 1-0 Bobcats. The momentum continued when Kareliz Alvarado was set up nicely by Mohendano scoring a goal. Mohenano didn't stop there, and with 1:40 left to the half, Kareliz Alvarado set her up for the third goal of the game leaving Five Towns scoreless- 3-0 Bobcats.
The Bobcats came in stronger with attention to the lost offensive opportunities in the first despite the scoreboard. At 38:20 Amy Leon positioned the ball for Mohendano, who slid the sphere in for another goal. At 30:27 and like a well-oiled machine, Amy Leon set up Mohendano again for her 3rd goal of the game. The fast paced machines continued for another 2 goals reaching a score of 7-0. The final two goals of the game were by Maria Teresa Croci assisted by Mohenano and by josserid Gabot assisted by Leon, when Five Towns called the game leaving 20 minutes on the clock. The final score was 9-0 fought hard for by the Lady Bobcats continuing their winning streak. Our expectations going into the game were to continue with the winning streak and we persevered" noting the pace pick up in the 2nd half.
